Dare I say a very simple context of using WYF in a friendly conversation?
• Alex: Hey! Nice to meet you. WYF?
• Jordan: Hey! I’m from New York. What about you?
• Alex: Cool! I’m from Texas. Ever been here?
This is a very neat illustration of how WYF is really just a casual abbreviation for starting a conversation and learning about a person's friendly background.

TMI means Too Much Information. Internet slang for when sharing too many unnecessary details about personal life. It is typically shared through casual conversation, social media, and via text messages. So when asked, "What does TMI mean?" it's just a straight answer. Well, that's just saying you are giving too many details to someone. It applies to online chats as well as social media comments for a good laugh: "Whoa, TMI!" if someone had just posted a detailed account of a particularly weird dream.
